SnapAV Takes Its Luma Surveillance Lineup to the Next Level
New 510 Series Recorders Offer More Robust Features at No Extra Cost
After placing as a finalist in the 2015 CEDIA Best New Product Awards, and being named the CE Pro Brand Leader in surveillance in 2018, Luma Surveillance is releasing an all-new, robust NVR and DVR lineup which will radically change how custom integrators create surveillance solutions. The first of those new recorders, Luma’s 510 Series NVR, debuts at CEDIA.
“This project has been years in the making,” says Alex Patrao, SnapAV’s Surveillance Product Manager. His team was determined to create numerous analog and IP options for both cost-conscious jobs as well as jobs which demand further control customization. “So far, I’m blown away by the reception we’ve gotten from dealers – even comments I’ve heard from people within the company. Guys can’t wait to get their hands on these recorders.”
Luma’s 510 Series NVRs are far faster than their predecessors, and offer heavy-duty performance and features. They support higher resolution cameras up to 12MP, 4K HDMI output, long-distance PoE up to 250m, and new Smart Search capabilities. Sold in traditional 4, 8, and 16-channel options, as well as a “no-HD” option for integrators who prefer to customize HDD storage, these recorders also utilize the latest H.265 codec, which makes hard drive storage more efficient. Additionally, a cost-conscious recorder line, the 310 Series, is in production for integrators who prefer a no-fuss product; it is slated to be released later this year.
The new Luma line is designed to offer integrators of all trades an ideal surveillance solution with plenty of benefits for end users, including: an intuitive UI and mobile app, faster processing and performance, and new privacy features ideal for in-home applications. Plus, when used with LumaLink, SnapAV’s free point-to-point remote access service, integrators can also eliminate insecure port forwarding and DDNS using popular remote management platform OvrC.
Patrao believes LumaLink will become an extremely valuable tool in future. “Instead of adding devices manually and setting each of them up one at a time, you can sync your OvrC device list with the Luma app for a streamlined setup. This lets you manage every camera in your system through one platform, leveraging the same OvrC login you use today.”
Overall, Patrao looks forward to debuting these new recorders and getting product feedback from surveillance dealers. “The 510 Series simplifies system design and installation and gives you a ton of new features – all without hiking up the cost. It’s the best of both worlds.”
